Prerequisite Requirements

Postby wkbgdoian » Mon May 23, 2011 11:31 pm

Hell All,

This is a very rookie question, but I am aspiring to open my own business correctly with all documentation and requirements and I will appreciate any feedback and guidance. My question is:

For Home Health Care companies, there must be a Registered Nurse contracted or employed for the business to be recognized and legitimized. Are there any requirements of this sort for an RN or any other type of doctor or professional to be contracted or employed to have my paramedical company legitimized?

Good question and the answer depends on the state. In CA for example, you are required to have a CPT1 certification, in Nevada you need to be an RN, etc. MOST states, however, do not legally require any certification.

Legitimizing yourself in the minds of your clients has more to do with the professionalism of your work and turn-around than it does with any particular certification. Agents and agencies almost never ask or care about specific certification if you do a great job efficiently.
